Traveller site in Bletchley

Date

Residents may know that a location in Newton Leys has long been designated for use as a traveller site within the local plan.  Recently Taylor Wimpey has amended a planning application (23/02652/FUL) originally submitted last year so that it now includes provision of 8 traveller pitches on this site (as well as erection of 83 dwellings nearby).  The town council is keen to ensure that all residents know about this amended application and are able to make their views known to the local planning authority.

Taylor Wimpey is holding a drop-in  public information session on Thursday 10 October 2024 at Newton Leys Pavilion from 3 pm to 6.15 pm for those who would like to learn more from them.

Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council will be considering the application and agreeing a council response to the planning authority at a meeting on Tuesday 8 October 2024 at 7.30 pm at Newton Leys Pavilion.  Members of the public are  very welcome to attend.  Please contact us for more information.

Residents will want to know their town councillors views’ on this amended application but in order to avoid accusations of bias or predetermination they should remain open minded, listen to residents and not share their views about the planning application until after the meeting on 8 October 2024 when the town council considers this matter.  At the meeting and afterwards they will be free to express their individual views.
