The allotment site will still need some further groundwork before tenancies can be let but it is hoped that tenants will be able to begin cultivation in the spring. The Town Council has been contacting people on the waiting list to check that they are still interested in having a tenancy agreement. (We have now emailed or telephoned everyone who has provided an email address or phone number and we are writing to those who only provided addresses.)
In the New Year we will be contacting everyone on the waiting list again to explain the arrangements for the letting of tenancies and allocation of plots. It has been a long wait for the allotments but we are really hopeful that 2020 will see residents of Newton Leys enjoying the fruits (and veg) of their allotment gardening.
