This photo shows one of our Rangers, Mick, with our new publicly accessible defibrillator (PAD) on the side of the Irish Centre in Manor Fields, MK2 2HX.
The PAD has been provided by the Town Council following discussions with the MK Irish Football Team who play on the pitch at the Irish Club. The Irish Club kindly allowed us to mount this on their wall and provide the electric for the heated defibrillator cabinet.
In the event that it was required, the first aider should phone 999 who will issue the code to release the defibrillator.
The number of PADs is increasing, especially in sporting locations, due to a number of recent high profile incidents. The council plans to put in a new PAD each year and already has one on the outside of Newton Leys Pavilion. On the St Johns Ambulance website, there is a guide on how to use a defibrillator.
