A message from our Chair Cllr Ethaniel Kelly-Wilson:

‘On behalf of all residents in our Town of Bletchley and Fenny Stratford, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the Royal Family on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Thank you to Queen Elizabeth for her long service and leadership to our country. We are deeply saddened, and many residents still speak with pride of The Queen’s visit to Bletchley in 1966, and when Bletchley Road was renamed Queensway in her honour.

May Her Majesty rest in eternal peace.’

The MK Rose is the designated place for anyone who wishes to lay flowers and a book of condolences is now open at Milton Keynes City Council’s Civic Office. Please be aware that flowers left in other areas may be moved to the MK Rose. The City Council also requests that flowers are taken out of cellophane wrappers where possible, and that no naked flames or candles are left. Please find more information on The MK Rose’s website.

The Civic Office will also be open this weekend between 9am-5pm for people who wish to the sign the book of condolences and will be available to sign until the day of Her Majesty The Queen’s funeral.

You can also leave a message of condolence online via The Royal Family’s website.

Further information about town council meetings will follow in due course.

Please note that the reading of the proclamation for the County of Buckinghamshire by the High Sherriff, will take place at 1pm in Market Square, Aylesbury, on Sunday 11 September. This will be followed by a local proclamation by the Mayor of Milton Keynes at 3pm in the Chamber at Civic Offices, which will be broadcast on the Milton Keynes Council’s YouTube channel.
