Please be advised that Central Bedfordshire Council has requested to close the A421 as part of the A421 duelling scheme.
The closure is scheduled to start at 8.00pm on Wednesday 19th August 2020 and will conclude at 6:00am on Saturday 22nd August 2020. If works are completed earlier then Central Bedfordshire Council will open up the road sooner.
From 8:00pm on Wednesday 19th August 2020 to 6:00am on Thursday 20th August 2020. The contingency for the above is from 8:00pm on Wednesday 26th August 2020 to 6:00am on Thursday 27th August 2020.
From 8:00pm on Thursday 20th August 2020 to 6:00am on Friday 21st August 2020. The contingency for the above is from 8:00pm on Thursday 27th August 2020 to 6:00am on Friday 28th August 2020.
From 8:00pm on Friday 21st August 2020 to 6:00am on Saturday 22nd August 2020. The contingency for the above is from 8:00pm on Friday 28th August 2020 to 6:00am on Saturday 29th August 2020.
The alternative route will be the same as the one that was used for the previous closure: - via A421, Bedford Western Bypass, A428, A422, A509, M1 J14, A509, A4146, H6 Childs Way, V11 Tongwell Street and H8 Standing Way (and vice versa). The road closure and diversion route is now available to view at the One Network website.
